This year will be the third edition of the Traditional boat fair during the second weekend of November, the 9th 10th and 11th of November. Marvel at the maritime history of the Netherlands in an exquisite location, Willemsoord.
Learn more about the different types of ships from the Dutch legacy, that have been preserved through centuries of sailing and wind and weather. And step on board these amazing ships, during this weekend. At the fair you can get inspired by the different ships that you can still go on an adventure with.
The Traditional Ships Fair will be held at the old marine complex Willemsoord. An indoor fair will be held in building 66 on Willemsoord. But not just in the building, also around the building there will be lots to see and do. For example, woodworking methods are exhibited in the Medemblikkerer loods (next to the exhibition building), the ports will be full of traditional ships, large and small. Several ships will be open to the public and you will be able to take a look at life on board.
In the exhibition center you can visit the Holiday Square to get inspiration for a trip on board a ship. Think of a nice trip around the Wadden Islands, or an adventure abroad a Dutch sailing ship that sails around the world. Do you want to go to the sun or to the ice, to the Cape Verde Islands, the Channel Islands, the Danish Islands, the deserted islands along the Scottish coast or the peninsulas of Antarctica? There will be presentations of these voyages on the holiday square.
Your admission ticket to the fair will also serve as an admission ticket to the Reddingmuseum (National Lifeboat Museum) and the Marine Museum, both within walking distance of the exhibition hall.
